Pouring dark brown to black, the #001 Nitro stout has flavours of rich bitter chocolate and roast coffee coming from the combination of seven different malts. A citrusy, bitter finish is courtesy of the cascade hops used. Rolled oats were also added to the mash giving a silkiness to the beer.
Nitrogen is used in carbonation giving this beer an almost cappuccino-like head with a fine bead and creamy mouth feel. Accordingly, this stout should be poured in two motions to allow the head to settle.
